Deficit squawks fly the coop when big corporations want tax cuts and screech when it's time to invest in the rest of us. Let’s push past their scare tactics and invest in our future.

Deficit Squawks: A Mouthpiece for Far-Right Special Interests

Deficit squawks like the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, Americans for Prosperity, American Enterprise Institute, and Heritage Foundation are funded by corporate and far-right special interests bent on dismantling vital and popular safety net programs — by creating what even they admit is an "artificial crisis" around the deficit.

Deficit squawks pipe up whenever key investments in the economy are on the table — screeching especially loudly whenever low-income, disabled, Black, or brown communities stand to benefit.

Biases and ulterior motives drive the irresponsible policies these groups have been peddling for decades — they are neither "experts," nor "objective," despite their claims.

Corporate-funded deficit squawks are pushing a narrative that benefits wealthy C-suite executives at the expense of everyone else. Time to shoo them away for good.
